The file works where overlays are used. OBS Studio plays WebM transparency natively as a Media Source, and Chrome and Edge play it on a web page. For Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve or Final Cut Pro, one ffmpeg command converts it to ProRes 4444, which keeps the transparency.

Open Animation mode and write what you need: the names and titles exactly as they should read, the style, the length, and that it's an overlay (a lower third, a corner bug, a subscribe reminder). Each graphic is drawn for your prompt; there is no template to pick.

The overlay plays in the editor over a checkerboard, so you can see exactly what is transparent. To change a word, a color or the timing, reply in chat; it edits the code and redraws.

Export a transparent WebM
Export gives you a transparent WebM (VP9 with alpha), up to 1080p on Pro or 4K on Ultra; transparent export runs in Chrome or Edge. The dialog also offers MP4, where the see-through parts become black.

Where does a transparent WebM work?
WebM keeps the alpha channel. OBS and web browsers read it directly; Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve and Final Cut Pro take it after one conversion to ProRes 4444.

WebM to ProRes 4444, keeping the transparency
ffmpeg -c:v libvpx-vp9 -i lower-third.webm -c:v prores_ks -profile:v 4444 -pix_fmt yuva444p10le lower-third.movNeeds ffmpeg. The -c:v libvpx-vp9 before -i makes ffmpeg decode the alpha channel; without it the transparency is dropped. Any other app that reads WebM alpha, or ProRes 4444 after converting, works the same way.

How do I make an animated lower third with iArt?

Does the lower third have a transparent background?

Premiere Pro does not read WebM alpha, so convert the file first. This ffmpeg command turns the WebM into ProRes 4444, which keeps the transparency, for Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve or Final Cut Pro: ffmpeg -c:v libvpx-vp9 -i lower-third.webm -c:v prores_ks -profile:v 4444 -pix_fmt yuva444p10le lower-third.mov
Will the names be spelled correctly?
Yes. Names and titles are typed into the code as real text, so they read exactly as you wrote them in every frame. Generative AI video models draw letters as pictures, which is why their spelling can drift; iArt's Animation mode draws real text.
Is it a live graphic I can update during a stream?
No. The lower third is a video file: it plays once, or loops as an OBS Media Source. It has no control panel and no live data feed. To change a name, edit it in chat and export the file again.
How much does it cost to make lower thirds with iArt?
